The "Gois" is a submarine road of 4.2km, very unique in the world! This special road which connects the island to the continent, is practicable only twice a day at low tide. On November 2017, The Gois was classified as a site of national and heritage interest. This is a first step in the UNESCO world heritage nomination process.
